Tennis In Your Community
Over the past several years, your MRTC executive has worked hard at improving club facilities and developing junior tennis programs. We believe that by engaging young people into the sport at an early age, they will continue to enjoy tennis throughout their life. This will of course result in more members and a stronger local tennis community!
All members are invited to join the executive meetings. This is a great place to get the latest news on club activities and your chance to be heard! If you have ideas, suggestions, want to volunteer or simply hear the latest, feel free to stop in. Meetings are generally held at Planet Ice, upstairs in one of the available rooms. Board members are voted in at the beginning of each year. Participation is voluntary and encouraged!

Action Plan!
A few years ago, we started a discourse with the municipality to allocate funding for court lights and in late 2006, we finally got our wish! Now, tennis players can enjoy warm summer evening play up until 10 pm. Our next lofty goal is to acquire a club house. This means that we need funding and municipal support!
Our primary source of funding is through membership dues, donations and by staging fund-raising events. These efforts of course require time and effort by volunteers. This is where you can really help! Call one of your executive directors and let them know you have a bit of time to spare. This goes a long way in building a strong and successful club!
Things you can do to help:
- Help with junior play: An hour or two on Tuesday or Thursday
- Call members: Spend 30 minutes on the phone to invite members out for an event
- Put up posters around town: Advertising works!
- Help organize events: Set up the tent & BBQ for opening day, do a little cooking
- Get on the phone and sell some T-shirts or raffle tickets to members
- Canvass businesses and government for donations. We need money to build our Club House
